HOMELANDS PROJECT | 70 mins | 2017
A feature film following four musicians as they return to their roots.. A story of cultural genealogy and a meditation on the journey home, the film entwines stories from across the Atlantic, unearthing commonalities between the disparate locations and weaving them together with musical tones. Midnight carnivals, discoveries and home truths formed an epic adventure narrative, a retracing of the transatlantic slave trade route, a tapestry of the post-colonial diaspora we live in.
Commissioned by Punch Records and Arts Council England to co-direct their Homelands project with Jaha Browne. Acquired by BFI player for streaming in UK.
