MIDNIGHT MALLRATS | 3mins | 2014
Short film exploring a resilient group of young people who used the local shopping mall in an alternative way to that which it was designed. Instead of shopping there, they visited late at night and used the space as their playground, rollerskating and and dancing, listening to music until late into the night. At a time when new commercial mall Westfield was arriving nearby, the story illustrates an act of resistance to consumer lifestyles. One of a series of two films commissioned by London Live Television, for broadcasting transmission spring 2014.
